NCP Secure Enterprise iOS Client for iPhones and iPads provides the user with the benefits of a comprehensive, fully-automated remote access solution within a Virtual Private Network (VPN). It can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store and installed on the device. The server components NCP Secure Enterprise Management (SEM version 4.05 and higher) and the NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Server (version 11.0 and later) are used to configure and distribute certificates centrally. Communication with the corporate network is carried out via a VPN tunnel according to the highest technical standards.

VPN Tunneling

NCP Secure Enterprise iOS Client for iPhones and iPads with iOS version 9.3 or later is a comprehensive, fully-automated remote access solution within a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

In addition to manual connection, the iOS client also supports the VPN OnDemand mode which means that the user remains connected to the corporate network at all times regardless of the connection medium (Wi-Fi or mobile data). Data can be transferred outside of the VPN tunnel with split tunneling.

Server Components

The iOS Client has access to resources in the company network via the NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Server, and is designed for interoperability with NCP Secure Enterprise Management (4.05 and later) which can also automatically import large user groups from existing user management systems into the remote access infrastructure.

Configuration and Licensing through Central Management

The NCP Secure Enterprise Management requires the following plug-ins for managing the iOS client:

NCP Management Plug-in License Management Version 11.00 (iOS client access license)
The purchased client access licenses are imported into the NCP Secure Enterprise Management. After the iOS client has connected to the server via the VPN, the server checks whether a license is available from the NCP Secure Enterprise Management which can be used for a VPN connection.

NCP Management Plug-in Client Configuration Version 11.00 (client configuration)
This plug-in is used for configuring all iOS clients centrally via NCP Secure Enterprise Management. This also supports iOS-specific features such as VPN OnDemand and Touch ID.

NCP Management Plug-in Server Configuration Version 11.00 (server configuration)
This plug-in is used to configure NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Server centrally. Note that the iOS Client only accepts Secure Enterprise VPN Server as a remote gateway.

Only after updating the server components and importing the plug-ins, can the administrator import the client access licenses and create initial and personal user profiles centrally (see Administrative steps before commissioning).
